Я обожаю керамику. Наверное, это одно из самых притягивающих меня прикладных искусств, которое еще и прекрасно сохраняется во времени, не гниет и не выцветает. Самое ужасное, что может случиться с керамикой, это то, что ее разобьют или оставят на дне морском. Поэтому почти во всех археологических и исторических музеях, что я была, львиная доля экспонатов была керамической.
Керамика хорошая еще тем, что этот материал пригоден для многих сфер жизни: изготовление посуды, стройматериалов, емкостей для хранения, пуговиц, украшений, даже для сантехники. Поэтому глядя на нее, можно посмотреть на все сферы жизни древних поселенцев Крита.
Примечательно, что даже у бытовых вещей присутствует декор. Сейчас, конечно, мы погрязли в мире однотонной посуды и неброских тканей, но раньше почти каждое изделие делалось вручную и имело свой дизайн, узнаваемый авторский стиль. Наверняка к изготовителю этой банки обращались чаще, чем к такому же ремесленнику, но не умевшему рисовать.
Еще меня, конечно, очень привлекли предметы для пчеловодства. На Родосе есть Музей пчел, но мы в него не попали. Я была на пасеке в центральной России и у нас почти все приспособления для пасечника деревянные. Вот что значит, что на островах дерево в дефиците, а глина нет. Тут даже дымари из глины когда-то делали.
И если с чашками, кувшинами и мисками все понятно, то назначение многих других объектов вызывает вопросы. Вроде и бутылка, а дырка внизу. Или с виду кувшин, но дна нет. Причем видно, что так и было задумано, а не экспонат не целый.
Надеюсь, эта миска с двумя обнимающимися людьми была древнегреческой валентинкой. Или романтической масляной лампой. В общем что-то про любовь.
Конечно, лучше всего за меня расскажут фотографии. Насколько же богатая коллекция у Археологического музея. Кстати, все надписи на карточках переведены на английский, поэтому про любой заинтересовавший экспонат можно почитать подробнее и узнать его назначение.
Мне очень понравился зал большеформатных изделий. Здесь представлены сундуки (опять же, не деревянные, как мы привыкли) и открытые емкости по типу ванн.
Забавно, что у некоторых вещей практически не поменялась форма. Пить чай из такой кружки все еще удобно.
Про то, что кувшин не меняется тысячелетиями я вообще молчу.
Конечно, не все экспонаты в музее из глины. Там так же представлены каменные изделия, оригиналы фресок из Кносского дворца, изделия из металла и монеты.
Гордостью музея является Фестский диск, уникальный памятник письма минойской культуры эпохи средней бронзы. До сих пор не известны ни его точное назначение, ни время изготовления. Ученые даже не могут договориться и определиться, что же на нем написано. Вот такая загадка, которую до сих пор не могут разгадать.
