Малоизвестный памятник Мэрилин Монро

Казалось бы, что в захолустном норвежском городке может делать скульптура известной голивудской дивы? Мэрилин Монро была американкой по рождению, а норвежские миллионеры не настолько «собакевичи», чтобы возводить памятники кумирам и секс-символам прямо в центре города. Но оказывается, во всём есть логика!

Как мы знаем, Норма Джин Мортенсон, а именно так звали Мэрилин по документам, родилась в семье Глэдис Пёрл Бейкер и Мартина Эдварда Мортенсена. Отцом в свидетельстве о рождении Мэрилин Монро значится Мартин Эдвард Мортенсон (через «О»), но мать забеременела девочкой еще до брака с ним, поэтому никто не знает, кто же является настоящим отцом знаменитости.

Ну и причем тут Хёугесунн? А при том, что Мартин Эдвард Мортенсен был сыном норвежских эмигрантов, происходивших из деревни неподалеку. Норвежцы не сомневаются, что белокурыми локонами, светлой кожей и красивой статью Мэрилин обязана норвежским корням.

Работу поручили известному норвежскому скульптору Нильсу Осу, автору норвежских монет и многих памятников в разных городах Норвегии. Так, в 1992 году, к тридцатилетней годовщине смерти Мэрилин Монро в марине Хёугесунна появилось её кокетливое скульптурное воплощение.
