Почти тысячелетний Ратеш на Пути Сантьяго

Некоторые маленькие города на Пути Святого Иакова вообще не примечательные. Ратеш же на мой взгляд заслуживает отдельного, хоть и небольшого, очерка, который поможет ответить на вопрос, стоит ли отклоняться от чисто прибрежного Пути Святого Иакова в центр Португалии.

Я специально собиралась отклониться от Caminho Portugues da Costa в Ратеш, так как не каждый день встречаешь населенные пункты, которым почти тысяча лет. От Вила-ду-Конди до Ратеша около 13км, что немного.

Подступы к городу

По меткам можно пройти через город, или обогнуть по кольцевой и сразу пойти в лес. Так как близилось время обеда, мы решили пообедать именно тут. Оказалось, что именно здесь нам встретился ресторан с самым вкусным и разнообразным обедом для пилигримов.

В центре города всегда есть церковь, но тут она была еще и дополнена старыми скрепами. Церковь называется Римской, прямо через дорогу находится образовательный центр при ней, где, как я поняла (я не сильна в порутагльском) проходит много событий, посвященных религиоведению, краеведению и изучению латыни. То есть жизнь в городе все-таки есть.

В городе раньше была железная дорога, теперь ей не пользуются, но станция осталась. Вдоль бывшей железки через кукурузные поля как раз можно выйти в лес, который приведет к Эшпошенде. Все люди будут пытаться вас повернуть, так как будут думать, что вы сбились с центрального пути.

Отклоняться или нет, решать, конечно, вам. Но мне Ратеш показался очень колоритным, и я не пожалела, что мы в него зашли, пусть и всего на полтора часика. Но может быть потому, что это было только начало. Где-то на третий день ощущения от красот и увиденного притупляются.
