Подбор сортов и опыт выращивания картофеля в Тверской области

Дело было в Тверской области летом 2022 года. Обычно люди в деревнях сажают свои собственные семена, которые удалось сохранить с прошлого года, но мы лишь начинающие дачники, так что погреба с картошкой, а заодно и распаханного поля под ее посадку у нас не было. Пришлось начинать с нуля. На местном рынке люди не заморачиваются с сортами, поэтому обычно семена описывают только раннеспелостью/позднеспелостью и цветом мякоти. Мне это было неинтересно, поэтому я полезла в интернет-магазины изучать предложения, а параллельно начала готовить место для посадки.

Подготовка грядки

Как я уже написала выше, у нас не было ни квадратного метра возделанной почвы на участке. Обычно в такие моменты все с довольством говорят, что земля отдохнувшая, но нет. Целина не может быть отдохнувшей, потому что для этого ее нужно возделать. У нас не было ни мотоблока, ни трактора, поэтому возделывать пришлось руками. Сначала я перекопала участок земли где-то 6м на 6м, нарезала лопатой дерн на небольшие кусочки, чтобы его было удобно перебрать и приступила к работе тяпкой и руками.

На переднем плане уже обработанная земля, а на заднем еще куски дерна.

В целом не могу сказать, что это процесс был специфичен именно для картошки, поэтому подробно про него писать не буду. Здесь важно, что у картофеля не было культурных предшественников (были только некультурные пырей и крапива), и я не вносила никакие удобрения ни осенью, ни весной. Более того, земля после такой перекопки не была легкой и воздушной, которую так любит картошка, а была очень плотной и густой. Песка для разбавки не было, поэтому посадила в такую.

Выбранные сорта

Тогда я еще не знала, что год будет абсолютно не грибной, а план был такой, что с августа я начну копать свою картошку, ходить в лес за лисичками и вечером есть картошку с грибами в сметане. Лисичек в 2022 году было мало, но именно для них я выбрала 2 супер раннеспелых сорта: Импала и Ривьера. Купила по 1кг семян каждого. Так же взяла попробовать раннюю диковинку Аметист (1кг семян) из-за интересного цвета мякоти.

Из среднеспелых сортов я выбрала Рэд Фантази (1кг семян) за красивую розовую кожицу и Гурман (1кг семян) за насыщенный фиолетовый цвет мякоти и почти черный цвет кожуры. Кроме того, мне еще дали 1кг фиолетовых семян, перепутанных и без сорта.

Из поздних мы с мужем остановили свой выбор на Пикассо (1кг семян), так как нам было не нужно много картофеля на хранение. Кроме того, так как мы не живем на даче круглый год, мы не были уверены, что она успеет созреть до нашего отъезда. Пикассо был выбран из-за названия, но в целом это очень симпатичная картошка.

Дальше я буду писать уже про каждый сорт, так как копали мы в разное время, а соответственно и готовили по-разному.

Посадка

Перед посадкой я стала изучать схемы высадки картофеля, голландский метод и даже опыты выращивания картофеля в мешках. У меня 25 соток земли, экономить место точно не нужно, поэтому остановилась на старом добром способе посадки в лунки по схеме, примерно, 60см на 70см на глубину штыка лопаты.

Я вела дневник, где записывала, какой сорт в какую лунку я положила, и уже в процессе высадки картофеля, я поняла, что совершила стратегическую ошибку и посадила раннеспелые сорта посередине гряды. В результате первые пробы картофеля и выкапывание картошки на еду приходилось делать в середине грядки, а это не очень удобно. Теперь я раннеспелки буду сажать по краям, чтобы было удобно выкапывать.

Кроме того, начитавшись про синергию некоторых видов растений, в промежутки между лунками в рядке я посадила бобовые (в основном чечевицу), чем еще больше загустила посадки и усложнила обработку грядок в дальнейшем. Хорошо, что они почти все не взошли или сгорели от аномальной жары.

Всего на посадку пошло 128 клубеньков 6 сортов, сажала на первой неделе июня, потому что до начала лета у нас было холодно и картошка все равно просто сидела бы в непрогретой земле. Верхневолжье это вам не Краснодарский край.

Уход, подкормки, обработка

Через 3 недели после посадки, когда уже показались почти все ростки картошки, я прополола вручную грядку, не рыхля ее. В тот же вечер полила слабым раствором травяного настоя из одуванчика и крапивы.

Вообще я не поливала картошку, так как у нас из-за аномальной засухи было мало воды в колодце и ее еле хватало на более капризные культуры, вроде помидоров и огурцов. Из-за этого картофелю явно не хватало воды, чтобы наращивать зеленую массу. Дождей в июне практически не было. Если позволяла возможность, я слегка дожевала ее из шланга прямо колодезной водой (если сделать мелкую каплю, то пока она долетит до ботвы через горячий воздух, она уже нагреется). Эту процедуру я проводила не больше 3 раз за все лето.

Вторая прополка пришлась на середину июля. Полола тоже руками, а вот окучивала уже тяпкой. Это было единственное окучивание и рыхление, потому что я заметила, что некоторые клубеньки оголяются, а значит корням не хватает объема почвы. Окучивала без фанатизма, так как посадила плотно, расстояние между рядами было недостаточное, как мне показалось.

Последняя прополка пришлась на конец августа, в последние теплые деньки. К тому моменту картошка уже отцвела, чуть-чуть начала стелиться по земле и заваливаться. Тогда же после прополки я скосила ботву, потому что из-за нее стало неудобно ухаживать и копать. Так и оставила до уборки урожая.

Отдельно хочу сказать, что у нас не было колорадского жука, поэтому ни от него, ни от других вредителей обработки не проводилось. Медным купоросом (или его современным аналогом препаратом Ордан) от фитофторы и других грибков тоже. Так что вся картошка выращена без препаратов и удобрений (кроме одного полива травяным настоем).

Сбор урожая

Я копала по сортам, чтобы было удобно сортировать и проследить за результатом. Начала с самых ранних и закончила поздними. Копала обычной лопатой, а после складывала в ящики пож навесом. Когда на улице стало совсем. В целом на выкапывание 128 лунок и перебор урожая у меня одной ушло около 3 дней.

Наверное лучше всего результаты продемонстрирует сравнительная таблица, но попрошу заметить, что все эти результаты были достигнуты без подготовки почвы, подкормок и обработок от вредителей. Так что эксперимент по выращиванию картофеля я считаю более чем удачным.

Выводы на следующий сезон

Выводов по агротехнике много. На будущий год я хотела бы внести с осени удобрения под картофель в почву, а весной, до посадки, обработать от хруща и проволочника и перекопала грядку, так как земля на ней все-таки плотная и скудная.

Кроме того, я бы предусмотрела возможность полива, так как если будет такая же жара без дождей, то непонятно, как нежным и молодым росткам не дать засохнуть.

Так же я бы сделала междурядья в метр. Так будет удобно ходить между ними с тяпкой, окучивать, не задевая соседние кусты.

Наверное на этом все, а дальше будет мой субъективный рейтинг посаженных сортов.
