Конечно, я хотела посадить максимально разный картофель. Но я не нашла в продаже семян сорта Красная Эмма с красной мякотью, поэтому решила ограничиться картошкой с красной кожурой. У меня почему-то из девства еще живо воспоминание, что красная картошка ценнее белой, за ней почему-то особенно следили на огороде и тщательно отбирали семена. Конкретный сорт, который мой дядя выращивал тогда, я не помню, поэтому хотела найти себе свой.
Краснокожих сортов в продаже много. Но я остановилась на немецком сорте Рэд Фантази, потому что у него насыщенный желтый цвет мякоти, а я не люблю белую картошку.
Характеристики сорта Рэд Фантази
Страна Селекции: Германия Период созревания: 90-100 дней Крахмалистость: 13-22% Урожайность: 250-370 ц/га Мякоть: темно-желтая Кожура: красная
Это единственный немецкий сорт, который я сажала в 2022 году. У него красная не очень яркая кожура и яркая желтая мякоть. У этого сорта большая крахмалистость. Про устойчивость к болезням я не нашла информацию, но мне показалось, что она слабая, так как это получился самый хилый картофель из всех, что мы сажали.
Посадка в грунт
Так как посадка шла одной грядкой, то и сроки высадки у всех примерно одинаковые. Рэд Фантази была высажена 3 июня 2022 года, аккурат рядом с Пикассо. Семенные клубеньки были маленькие, вялые, без ростков.
Всходы, рост и цветение
Всходы начали появляться только через 2 недели после посадки. Взошли не все, а где-то 80% от посаженного. Это, кстати, единственная картошка, которая взошла не вся. Росла туго, слабо набирала зеленую массу. На грядке смотрелась хуже всех. Стеблей немного, 2-3 на растение. Достаточно высокие, но со скудной листвой.
Цвела неактивно, после цветения начала желтеть листьями, сухие листья начали опадать, а новые практически перестали появляться. Большую часть лета простояла буквально «голой» и ссохшейся. Как по мне, это была самая проблемная картошка. Ботва не выглядела здоровой, растения развивались медленно. Забегу вперед и скажу, что клубеньки тоже были кем-то изъедены и поражены.
Уборка урожая
К сбору урожая приступила в первой половине сентября. В общем, копка началась с небольшого разочарования. Крайние кустики не показались мне урожайными, а то маленькое количество клубней, что было, были либо кем-то покусаны, либо явно поражены картофельным вирусом. Чистой, ровной картошки правильной формы получилось действительно меньше половины от общего урожая.
Вкусовые качества и блюда
Но вот что хочется сказать. Несмотря на всю проблемность и капризность сорта, эта картошка оказалась самой вкусной из всех наших подопечных. Ее было так приятно есть вареной, что кроме соли ничего и не требовалось.
Из-за большого содержания крахмала, картофель, разумеется, разваривался, терял форму, лопалась кожура. Сварить эту картошку целой практически не получалось, особенно если проткнуть, чтобы проверить готовность. Интересно, что при варке кожура теряла цвет и становилась бледно-розовой. Но мякоть так и оставалась яркой и желтой.
Хранение
Так как с урожайностью у этого сорта не заладилось и мы собрали ее всего 10кг, то мы достаточно быстро ее съели и так и не проверили, как она ведет себя при хранении. Рискну предположить, что не очень хорошо. Тем не менее эти 10кг оказались самой вкусной картошкой, которую мы ели.
Выводы
Выводы сложные. Конечно, Рэд Фантази показала себя как капризная и непродуктивная культура, но вкус просто шикарный. Возможно, стоит изменить агротехнику и лучше готовить грядку, чтобы получить более стабильный урожай. Может быть был некачественный посадочный материал, как взошло не все. Но еще пробовать сажать точно буду, просто сделаю выводы и постараюсь окружить ее должным уходом или хотя бы дополнительным питанием.
